Clipboard History V2.0 Manual
Please note!
This program stores your clipboard content in a visible way. That means if you put passwords or passkeys on the clipboard, they are stored in the program. Please be aware so you don't put sensitive information on your clipboard while this program is running. The clipboard history is not saved on your computer, so closing the application will wipe your history clean.
Introduction
This program turns the usual clipboard functionality of Windows into a clipboard with a history feed! If it detects new clipboard texts, it will push the old text into the history. Up to twelve strings of texts can be recorded before the oldest is removed.
If you are copying a lot of long texts, URLs, or code, this might be a handy helper for your task. The program, sadly, doesn't recognise content other than text (i.e. images).
Interface
The interface displays thirteen different strings of text in the window. The upper is your current clipboard content. The other twelve strings are your clipboard history, with the most recent above and the least recent below. Newlines (Enters) are displayed as \\. The program starts recording your history upon start-up and forgets all data when closed.
Each string has two buttons next to them. You can always [right click] on these buttons to get an explanation of it's functionality. Each string in the history can be sent back to the clipboard or be removed from history. For the current clipboard string, the 'send back' button is replaced by an 'edit string' button.
And that's about it! One more thing, though- your current clipboard content is also displayed in the task bar. This will make it easier to remember what exactly was on your clipboard if you got interrupted by something.
Advanced options
Since Version 2, there are two more actions you can execute: [click and hold right] on a string to show how much characters are in there and how many newlines there are. You can now also change the horizontal alignment of the text by [pressing the middle mouse button]. Useful for working with a big texts.
